On 10 April, Despatch Preparatory School, fondly known as “the school on the hill,” celebrated its 54th birthday with a vibrant day filled with fun, laughter, and togetherness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learners, all dressed in white, created a striking “#54” formation on the school grounds, captured by drone footage as a proud symbol of the school’s legacy. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebrations were sweetened with cake for every learner.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the day was the playful energy shared between staff and learners. Teachers joined in the spirit of celebration with a playful cake fight, running around and squeezing leftover icing from cake boxes onto one another’s faces. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laughter was contagious, with learners delighting in the cheerful “fighting” and the shared moments of fun.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school mascot also brought excitement by introducing a new Thando song, getting learners dancing and celebrating as one.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding meaning to the festivities, learners took part in a coin drive, filling a “54” outline with coins to raise funds for the school’s growing robotics and coding department.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
