{"id":266433,"date":"2025-08-22T16:21:46","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T14:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/?p=266433"},"modified":"2026-06-18T17:01:44","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T15:01:44","slug":"show-off-your-matric-dance-style-all-for-a-worthy-cause","status":"publish","type":"school_article","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/school\/show-off-your-matric-dance-style-all-for-a-worthy-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"Show off your Matric Dance style \u2013 all for a worthy cause"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nelson Mandela Bay matriculants can now enter for the prestigious Miss and Mr Matric Dance competition, hosted by <em>PE Express<\/em> and <em>UD Express<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This charitable initiative supports CANSA, with all proceeds directed towards the vital work they undertake in assisting cancer patients within Eastern Cape communities. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition will culminate in a glamorous fashion show finale at Walmer Park Shopping Centre in Gqeberha on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at 16:00. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, entrants will showcase their stunning matric dance ensembles, and winners for both PE Express and UD Express categories will be announced. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Event highlights and prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The winners&#8217; photos will be featured on the front pages of PE Express and UD Express. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Attractive prizes in Walmer Park gift cards: Winners: R2,000 each, Runners-up: R1,000, and Second Runners-up: R500. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rules and entry details<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 An entry fee of R60 is payable directly to CANSA (banking details below). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Entrants must send their matric dance photo and completed entry form via email, including proof of payment. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Submit high-resolution photographs where the full outfit, including dress or suit, hair, make-up, and accessories, can be viewed. Photo collages (maximum three photos) are permissible. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Only one entry per matriculant is permitted, featuring a solo photograph or collage. No group photos, selfies, or photos with partners are accepted. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Only matriculants from Gqeberha schools are eligible for the PE Express category, while the UD Express category is exclusive to schools in Kariega, Despatch, KwaNobuhle, and Nqweba (Kirkwood). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Photos posted on Facebook timelines or Messenger are disqualified \u2013 entries must be submitted only via email. Choose your image wisely as replacements are not accepted post-submission. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 All qualifying entries will be posted in an album on the PE Express and UD Express Facebook pages. By entering the competition, you are giving EP Media permission to use these images on our social media platforms. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Facebook reactions do not influence the competition.
