{"id":54725,"date":"2018-04-05T06:00:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-05T04:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/young-singer-to-host-concert-in-town-hall-20180404-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-20T15:48:38","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T13:48:38","slug":"young-singer-to-host-concert-in-town-hall-20180404-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/young-singer-to-host-concert-in-town-hall-20180404-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Young singer to host concert in town hall"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>THE head girl of Fountain of Life Christian School in Uitenhage, Debrah Coeries (16), will be hosting a benefit concert tomorrow evening in the Uitenhage Town Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She will feature well known Nelson Mandela Bay artists such as Life Lyne, Curtis K and Chosen Generation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She will also launch her debut CD, My Pursuit, with original songs written by her sister, Claricia Coeries, who passed away two years ago, after a battle with cancer. Claricia was a member of the much acclaimed Nelson Mandela University choir and studied Media and Communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All funds raised at the concert and the CD sales will go toward Debrah\u2019s trip to the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) International Student Convention in the USA, where she will be representing South Africa. She participated and received second place for her solo song item at the ACE All Africa Student Convention that was held in Bloemfontein during October 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Annually approximately 4 000 young people worldwide qualify in regional ACE conventions to compete in the categories of music, oratory, art, athletics, academics, and numerous aspects of service. At ACE students learn about dedication, patience, striving for excellence, and commitment and will have the opportunity to compete with others from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2018 ACE International Student Convention will be hosted at the Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana from May 19\u201324.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDebrah will be leaving for the USA on May 11th and will return on May 29th. We\u2019re trying our best to raise as much funds as possible to support this talented girl from Uitenhage,\u201d said Timothy Coeries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The concert will commence at 19:00 and tickets
