Later, Mothering Sunday in the United Kingdom was traditionally a day for people to visit the church where they were baptised and young servants were given the day off to visit their mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is an International Mother\u2019s Day Shrine dedicated to the preservation of motherhood \u2013 it is located with a museum at Grafton, West Virginia, and aims to preserve, promote and develop the spirit of motherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many people believe that Mother\u2019s Day is now overcommercialized, with card companies, flower shops, jewellery stores, gift shops, restaurants, hotels, and department stores advertising promotions and special deals for this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
