time for the Bay Ultra Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>THE Bay Ultra Marathon, which is known to be one of the best coastal routes in the country and has three separate distances, will take place on Saturday, February 9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This road race enters its 37th year and is powered by Amobia and hosted by Body Concept Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race will start and finish at Pollock Beach, and the route will take in the incredible scenes along the Schoenies coastline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The race will cater to all runners, namely: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>50km \u2013 a Qualifier for the Two Oceans and the Comrades; 21km \u2013 for those not ready to tackle a long distance route; 5km \u2013 a fun run where the school which enters the most learners stands to win one year free internet, and installation thereof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year the Bay Ultra will go green, this year with the finish lane being a passageway of trees, rather than balloons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These trees will then be planted afterwards at a venue to be confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stop plastic campaign<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The waste bins en route will include those from the Spar STOP Plastic campaign, and the medals will be made from bamboo for sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competitors and supporters  will be asked to bring a pair of  previously used (or new) running shoes, so that those who are unable to wear such vital items in a race, are given the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries may be handed in at   Brian Bands, Action Sports, and Up and Running. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing date<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing date for pre-entries is Wednesday, February 6 at 14:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration and late entry for all races from 13:00 to 19:00 on Friday, February 8, at the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving
