He was the \u2018father\u2019 to all darts players in Despatch, Uitenhage and the Eastern Cape,\u201d said Vernon Human from the St Croix Darts Association where Mei-ring was a member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meiring has lost the fight against cancer and passed away on Sunday, September 15.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meiring was the top ranked darts player in South Africa for more than 20 years and tops in the Eastern Cape for the past   30 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It would have been Meiring\u2019s fifth world cup. He previously has represented SA in France, the Netherlands, Australia and  Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Darts was his passion and he started playing this sport nearly 40 years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will miss our \u2018Captain oh Captain\u2019. Christo was the light for us when we went away on tour. He was the life of us and the inspiration to the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur deepest condolences to the family from all his friends and darting family,\u201d said Human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Christo Meiring\u2019s memorial service will be held tomorrow (Friday, September 20), 11:00, AGS Despatch (at the back of the central rugby
