Foto:heilie combrinck<\/div>\n<div class=\"img_accreditation\"><span class=\"source\" style=\"display:none;\"><\/span><span class=\"photographer\" style=\"display:none;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk is mal oor di\u00e9 twee beroepe, want ek hou van sport en vinnig praat en kon dalk ook \u2019n vendusieafslaer word, maar dis drama en stories wat my die naaste aan die hart l\u00ea,\u201d s\u00ea Scholtz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>Verraad <\/span>is \u2019n romantiese speurverhaal propvol familie-intriges en \u2019n liefdesdriehoek wat liederlik skeefloop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy inspirasie vir die storielyn het ek gekry van \u2019n ware lewensdrama wat in Amerika afgespeel het. Ek het dit natuurlik aangepas en dit handel oor \u2019n ryk Berg-gesin van Somerstrand en allerhande sameswerings om erfgeld in die hande te kry,\u201d s\u00ea Scholtz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDie grootste gedeelte van die boek speel af op \u2019n luukse boot op die Middellandse-see en op die Griekse eilande. Ek het deeglike kennis van \u2019n plesierboot want ek en my vrou het al twee keer die geleentheid geniet om op \u2019n bootreis te kon gaan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <span>Verraad<\/span> erf Madri Berg byna niks van haar pa en sy neem daarom wraak teen haar welgestelde ma, Evette. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Om di\u00e9 planne uit te voer, is haar nuwe liefde, Ron, die ideale makker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk het so jaar-en-\u2019n-half aan die boek geskryf. Die spanningslyn hou \u2019n mens vas en die kort slothoofstuk vra vir \u2019n opvolg.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholtz het sy onderwysloopbaan in Vosburg begin en was skoolhoof by laerskole op Piketberg, Vryburg en in Oos-London. Later jare was hy \u2019n dosent by die onderwyskollege op Fort Beaufort. Na sy aftrede het hy by heelwat skole in die Nelson Mandelabaai-metropool afgelos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk is \u2019n gebore onderwyser en het groot sukses behaal met veral skoolkonserte en die dekor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deesdae leef hy di\u00e9 kreatiwiteit uit in die familiebesigheid Lea Draping op Uitenhage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDit is juis wanneer ek besig is met die maak van dekor dat my kop draai van die intriges. Vyfuur stop my werk. Dan weet my familie is dit my tyd om daardie gedagtes neer te pen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholtz is tans besig met \u2019n tienerboek oor sy grootwordjare langs die Swartkopsrivier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk is mal oor die Trompie-boeke. Ons was in ons kindertyd net so stout. Ons het daar langs die rivier bote gedokter, aas verkoop, vrugte gesteel en selfs die dominee se preek laat ver-dwyn. Al daardie kattekwaad wat ons daar aangevang het wil ek nou in \u2019n boek saamvat,\u201d s\u00ea Scholtz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>is by Reach Publishers beskikbaar sowel as
