Photo: RAY TRUTER PHOTOGRAPHY<\/div>\n<div class=\"img_accreditation\"><span class=\"source\" style=\"display:none;\"><\/span><span class=\"photographer\" style=\"display:none;\"><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Big Walk for Cancer will have two ambassadors, Xylon van Eyck and Dr Lesley Lee, both of whom will be celebrating their own steps and victories against cancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Lee, who is a divisional head at Volkswagen South Africa in Uitenhage, says she is enjoying her first year as brand ambassador for what has become the single biggest public participation charity event in the Eastern Cape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She lost her right leg to a rare form of cancer when she was in Grade 11. Undeterred, she continued to study and today holds a PhD in change management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TV presenter, sports promoter and keen cyclist, van Eyck grew up in Booysens Park, Port Elizabeth. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma at the age of 26, and has been in remission since 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Department of Health will once again be a part of the journey, providing Eastern Cape residents with free screenings and information clinics in an effort to promote early detection throughout the province,\u201d says Sizwe Kupelo, provincial health spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pre-event screenings are being held in Maclear, Peddie and Graaff-Reinet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Big Walk entrants will be able to enjoy free breast examination screens, diabetic testing, hypertension as well as Body Mass Index Tests at the private screening facility at Big Walk Registration which will be situated in the Boardwalk\u2019s Expo Level on Thursday and
