2019 has been a busy year of firsts for College Hill Preparatory School, with various new developments and improvements to the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The school\u2019s last venture for the year will be its annual Games Day\/Fun Run on Saturday, November 2nd where there will be games, a raffle for amazing prizes, inflatables and loads of different food trucks, as well as a sweet start to the day with a Candy Dash fun run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCollege Hill has taken huge strides in improving and maintaining its reputation in the Uitenhage community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt has always been viewed as a \u201clittle school\u201d, due to the age gap that they cater for \u2013 Grade R to Grade 3,\u201d said Nicole Mohamed, who handles the public relations and marketing of the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the last few years, however, College Hill has not only grown in learner numbers, but in experiences, campus enhancements and setting its footprint in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis year has been a fast paced, busy year for College Hill, as coach Justin Peach was employed as the school\u2019s sports co-ordinator who not only coaches rugby and cricket at the school, but also arranges various matches for the school\u2019s various teams,\u201d said Mohamed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a huge development for College Hill, as the school only recently started taking part in sports competitions.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With all this sport on the go, the school has needed to invest in school buses, one of the many firsts for College Hill. The first two school buses were purchased for College Hill in the third term this year. A very big first for the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sports program has also seen the school host their very first Derby Day, against Hand-haaf, during August 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith all these big needs and projects, the school has had to rely heavily on fundraising and community support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This prompted the school to host a Golf Day and the community really pulled together to provide the golfers with a lovely experience on the day,\u201d said Mohamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Campus improvements, such as a new garage\/club house, landscaping of the Grade R area, paving of the waiting area and general maintenance around the school, is largely thanks to all the help of supporters, donors and sponsors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
