AFTER dropping out of school in his Grade 10 year, Dylan Mostert (21) had the guts to return to John Walton Secondary School to complete his school career to the very end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And now this brave young man can walk proudly for having passed matric in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UD Express reported previously that it was his late grandfather, Connie Warney, who prompted him to go back to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In yet another positive move, Dylan was one of the John Walton matrics who attended a special study camp for the duration of the examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll I could do was say thank you to God who made everything possible for me. I am also thankful that I could make my grandfather\u2019s words and dreams for me come true.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dylan who plans to apply to the SAPS academy this year further said his family was very proud of him and they always believed that he was going to make it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey saw how hard I worked while I was preparing for my final examination and they now see me as a role model in the family,\u201d said Dylan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The high school graduate was ,however, not always this positive. After dropping out of school he said he never imagined that he would one day pass matric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI always believed that I would be a drop-out and today I am a winner,\u201d said Dylan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he would like to encourage this year\u2019s matriculants to believe in themselves as it will in turn help them along the path to success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
