Ons wil nie hierdie talent verloor nie, maar eerder met Progress se netbal hulle behou en deur sport ons gemeenskappe weer op die wen- en herstelpad help.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eens was daar 12 aktiewe netbalklubs wat mekaar stewige kompetisie gebied het, maar dit kwyn en tans is daar slegs sewe klubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDit is een van die beste netbalspanne, maar die uitdagings waarmee hulle gekonfronteer word soos vandalisme, die toestand van die baan en vervoer, veroorsaak dat hulle nie volgens hul volle potensiaal kan meeding nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDaarom het Progress Rugby-klub, wat die suksesvolste in sy liga in die Oos-Kaap is, uitgereik om hierdie netbalspelers ook op die pad na sukses te help. Dit is ook goed om vroue meer betrokke te kry by die Progress-handelsnaam,\u201d s\u00ea Basson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens netballegende en oud-OP skeidsregter, Stephney Loots (79) wat steeds in hart en siel by netbal betrokke is, is hierdie spelers die beste in die area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEk is \u2019n ou Progress-vrou en trots op die klub. Ek is baie bly dat die netbal nou deel is van di\u00e9 klub,\u201d s\u00ea Loots, \u2019n oud-keurder, -skeids-regter en netbalspeler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWat ek nie kan verstaan nie, is dat die netbalbaan, wat \u2019n sport vir vroue is, so eenkant en ver weg van die kleedkamers en ander sportfasiliteite gebou is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHier is absoluut niks, die spelers moet daar agter \u2019n bos gaan verklee. Dit is \u2019n skreiende skande met geen logika in die uitleg nie,\u201d s\u00ea Loots. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens Sherelda Smith, afrigter van die eens Crane Netbalklub wat nou as Progress Netbalklub be-kendstaan, is hulle baie opgewonde om deel te wees van Progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOns grootste uitdaging is die onveiligheid en beskadiging van die netbalbaan by die Derrick Ferreira-sportveld,\u201d s\u00ea Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n <b>Die netbalbaan is in 2017 oorgedoen, maar ledige kinders uit die aangrensende woonbuurt en vandale is besig om duisende rande se skade aan die oppervlak te veroorsaak.<\/b><b>\n<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>\u201cDie outjies kap name en graffiti op die netbalbaan uit. Hier word ook bottels stukkend gegooi en dit maak dit baie gevaarlik om op die baan netbal te speel,\u201d s\u00ea Smith. <\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<b>\n<p>Ashenda Makonie, \u2019n kranige atleet, netbalspeler, -afrigter en bestuurslid van Progress s\u00ea sy sal baie graag wil sien dat Progress Netbalklub in die OP-liga, wat Mei begin, sal speel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2019n Gardens rugby-ondersteuner (die aardsvyandklub van Progress) Keeziah Nel, is nou \u2019n Progress netbalspeler en s\u00ea, \u201cEk sal altyd Gardens se rugby ondersteun, maar Kosie se voorlegging oor hoe hulle ons netbal gaan help het my oorreed om vir Progress netbal te speel. Nou is ek groen (Gardens) binne en blou (Progress) buite.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Progress Netbalklub oefen Maandae tot Donderdae om 17:00 by die Derrick Ferreira-sportveld. Die klub het tans 19 lede en vroue en skoolmeisies wat by die klub wil aansluit kan Sherelda Smith bel by 084 728 0246.
