VIR inwoners van Japtha- en Le Clusstraat in Jubileepark op Uitenhage het die leuse \u201ceendrag maak mag\u201d nuwe betekenis gekry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die rommelstorting op die le\u00eb stuk grond op die hoek van di\u00e9 twee strate het menige inwoner die harnas ingejaag. Bou- en tuinrommel en hope swartsakke word blykbaar meestal deur inwo-ners van ander areas, onwettig daar gestort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die versuiming van die munisipaliteit om op pleidooie om die area skoon te maak te reageer, het inwoners tot aksie laat oorgaan. Hulle hetmoue opgerol en self hul omgewing begin skoonmaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2019n Inwoner van Japthastraat, wat verkies om anoniem te bly, het ges\u00ea hy het gesien hoe mense uit sogenaamde gegoede buurte hul rommel snags op di\u00e9 vlak kom weggooi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die twee strate se inwoners het virtuele vergaderings op gespreksgroepe begin en koppe by-mekaar gesit om die probleem te takel. Tussen hulle is daar spoedig finansi\u00eble bydraes ingevorder om \u2019n stootskraper te huur om die area skoon te stoot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die COVID-19 inperkings- en veiligheidsmaat-re\u00ebls is te alle tye gehandhaaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inwoners het daarna skriftelik \u2019n versoek aan die munisipaliteit gerig vir \u2019n herwinningsdrom, sowel as \u2019n kennisgewingbord wat aandui dat onwettige rommelstorting verbode is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weereens was daar geen reaksie vanaf die munisipaliteit se kant op die versoeke nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nou versoek die inwoners van Japtha- en Le Clusstraat dringend dat die publiek die oop stuk veld moet help skoonhou en om onwettige storting te help keer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inwoners beplan om die oop area met inheemse plante te verfraai en om dit in stand te hou. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intussen bly die strate se inwoners tog hoopvol dat die munisipalieit hul verantwoorde- likheid sal nakom en gehoor sal gee aan die versoeke. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As almal saamwerk en die leuse \u201ceendrag maak mag\u201d ter harte neem, sal dit \u2019n w\u00eareldse verskil maak om die area op die hoek van Japtha- en Le Clusstraat in \u2019n park, wat \u2019n lus vir die oog kan wees, te omskep.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
