THE advent of COVID-19 has seen major disruptions in the economy and life in general across the globe. Education has not been spared either. The MBDA, an entity of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has decided to step in and provide support to thousands of students and scholars of Nelson Mandela Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe MBDA has decided to dedicate one of the events spaces at the Tramways, the Left-Wing, a 300 square metre venue with a capacity of 100 desks, socially distanced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This facility will be equipped with a desk and chair per user, controlled access to Wi-Fi\/Internet, as well as all the sanitizing and screening offerings as per COVID-19 regulations,\u201d says Luvuyo Bangazi, Spokesperson of the MBDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting from yesterday, November 11, the Tramways Left-Wing will operate during weekdays from 09:00 to 20:00 and weekends from 09:00 to 16:00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students, including scholars who want to take advantage of this support, must book their seats prior to visiting the venue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To make this service accessible to all without hindrance, the MBDA has made the booking system available via a zero rated website, www.mbdaengage.co.za and no data required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n Maths tutoring services for Grades 8 \u2013 12<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A further effort to support scholars and parents, the MBDA will host a BSc student from the Nelson Mandela University to offer Mathematics tutoring programme for Grades 8 \u2013 12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interested parents or students must contact the tutor directly. The MBDA is offering the venue and connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n Uitenhage and Despatch<\/b>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students and scholars who wish to access support in Uitenhage and Despatch may contact the MBDA operated NMB Science and Technology Centre to take advance of the support and programmes offered there. Contact NMB STC https:\/\/nmbstc.co.za\/contact-us\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n
