<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\nA woman who was allegedly spotted with the missing girl, was
\ncirculating on various social media platforms in the vicinity of Knysna on
\nMonday, August 16, 2021, alerting authorities to her whereabouts. Members
\nattached to the Tsitsikamma K9 responded to the information and embarked on an
\nintensive search for the pair, first without any success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police spokesperson, Sgt. Christopher Spies, said that the search
\nfor the pair resumed at first light yesterday morning. \u201cWhen the members
\nvisited a number of homes at White Location after receiving a hint, members
\npounced on a residence situated in Rolihlahla Street and ensued with a search
\nof the house. They then found the toddler asleep in one of the rooms,\u201d Spies explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe police subsequently arrested the 21-year-old woman on a
\ncharge of kidnapping. She remains in custody and will be transferred to the
\nEastern Cape where she is expected to make a court appearance once charged,\u201d he
\nadded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the toddler was admitted at a local hospital for
\nmedical assessment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Western Cape Police Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Thembisile
\nPatekile, reaffirmed the commitment of the police to ensure that the rights of
\nwomen and children are protected as the most vulnerable in society. He thanked
\nthe members for their persistence in ensuring a safe return of the missing girl.
\nPatekile also welcomed the arrest of the suspect who, with her conduct,
\nthreatened the wellbeing of toddler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
