\ndetectives are investigating a case of murder and house robbery after Xhobani
\nMaya (36) was fatally shot during a home invasion in Kariega in the early hours
\nof this morning, September 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to
\npolice spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at
\nabout 02:30 this morning, in Tolbos Street, Strelitzia Park, a boy (14) heard
\nfiddling at the door and immediately thereafter a brick was thrown through a
\nbedroom window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said that
\nthe teenager ran into his parent\u2019s room, and they locked the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe door was
\nkicked open and shots were fired,\u201d said Janse Van Rensburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further
\nsaid that the boy\u2019s father, Maya, sustained a gunshot wound and succumbed to
\nhis injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Janse Van
\nRensburg said that the three suspects took a TV set, PlayStation, and cell
\nphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said that after
\nthey left, Maya\u2019s wife contacted the security company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe
\ninvestigation is continuing,\u201d said Janse Van Rensburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
