SAPS Kariega detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case following a fatal accident where two people died on Saturday, May 18, on the Rocklands Road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 18:15, three vehicles were involved in the accident on the on the R334, Rocklands\/Uitenhage Road.<\/p>\n
She said according to information, the driver of the Toyota Avanza was travelling in the direction of Rocklands and was alone in the vehicle. <\/p>\n
\u201cA VW Golf with two occupants was travelling in the direction of Kariega. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt was further alleged that the driver of the Avanza was attempting to avoid an accident with cattle on the road but collided head-on with the VW Golf,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
She added that behind the VW Golf was a third vehicle, a VW Polo also travelling in the direction of Kariega, also collided into the back of the VW Golf.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe unknown driver of the Avanza and a 30-year-old female from the VW Golf died at the scene while the driver of the VW Golf was taken to the hospital for treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.<\/p>\n
