{"id":44449,"date":"2024-08-29T15:44:43","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T13:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/entries-now-open-for-miss-mr-matric-dance-2024-20240628-4\/"},"modified":"2025-03-21T13:54:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-21T11:54:53","slug":"entries-now-open-for-miss-mr-matric-dance-2024-20240628-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/entries-now-open-for-miss-mr-matric-dance-2024-20240628-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Entries now open for Miss, Mr Matric Dance 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Local matric girls and boys can now start entering this year\u2019s UD Express Miss and Mr Matric Dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is in aid of CANSA, and all funds raised will go towards the work CANSA does in the Eastern Cape communities for cancer patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 20 finalists (10 boys and 10 girls) will show their beautiful matric dance outfits during the grand finale, which will be in the form of a fashion show at Walmer Park Shopping Centre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 20 UD Express finalists will also participate in the finale, which will be held on 12 October at 14:00. During the finale a UD Express Mr and Miss Matric Dance, as well as a PE Express Mr and Miss Matric Dance, will be chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets will be available for friends and family to support the entrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners\u2019 photos will be published on the front pages of UD Express and PE Express, respectively. Prizes the winners will receive will be announced shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entry fee is R60 and must be paid directly to CANSA (see details below).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All entrants will be featured on the UD Express and PE Express Facebook pages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrants will be judged on their overall look, including the dress or suit, hair, make-up, and accessories, so be sure to send a photo in which the judges can clearly get the complete picture.&nbsp;&nbsp;A panel of independent judges will choose the finalists once entries have closed on October 3, 2024.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is not open for voting by the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to enter:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To enter, matriculants must send their matric dance photo and entry form via email only. Proof of payment to CANSA must be attached to each entry. It must be your own matric dance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No selfies, group photos, or photos with your partner are allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only email entries will be accepted and must be accompanied by a proof of payment of the R60 entry fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No photos that are posted on our Facebook timeline will be accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may enter only once for the duration of the competition and only one photograph\/collage per entrant will be allowed. Choose your photo submission carefully. Once a photo has been submitted, it cannot be swopped with another photo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We need to see the complete look of the entrant, including the dress\/suit, hair, and, if possible, the shoes and accessories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photos must be high resolution (minimum of 1MB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entry for the competition ends at noon on October 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more info contact
