The Rotary Club of Uitenhage South were recently delighted to charter a new Interact club based at Limekhaya High School in Langa and induct its first president. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charter members of the new club were encouraged by their principal to make initial contact with Rotary and the formation of the club went from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a fundraiser, the members were invited to cater for the Rotary club and guests at their weekly meeting, which they did enthusiastically, producing what they like to cook at home. Clive Hassell, the president of the Rotary Club, congratulated the learners and inducted Sihle Busakwe as their first president. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interact is the junior section of Rotary, with 343 000 members belonging to 14 910 clubs in 145 countries throughout the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education is one of the areas that Rotary pride themselves in being able to assist communities, and direct involvement with schools via Interact forms partnerships which benefit everyone. The new club joins the seven Interact clubs already based at schools in Kariega which are mentored by the two Rotary clubs.<\/div>\n

Interact is a club for youth ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with others in their community or school to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
