KARIEGA <\/strong>– The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Eastern Cape has offered a reward of up to R30 000 for information that could assist in locating a person of interest sought in connection with serious and violent crimes, including murder, kidnapping and fraud in the Nelson Mandela Bay District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, Donovan Williams, also known as “Poenie”, is wanted for questioning in connection with several serious and violent crimes that were committed between 2020 and 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nelson Mandela Bay District Detective Intervention Task Team has been investigating the disappearance of two individuals in separate incidents. “Firstly, Quinton Plaatjie, also known as “Doenas”, was reported missing at Bethelsdorp SAPS in 2020,” she said. “Secondly, Loay Khayat was reported missing at Kariega SAPS in August 2025.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Janse Van Rensburg added that there was a double murder incident of Earl Classen and Clarissa Swart in Kariega (September 2021), as well as the double murder of Isaac Moses and Merlyn Elkenstead in Kamesh (April 2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Williams is wanted to shed some light on some of these mentioned criminal activities,” she said. “Several attempts to track him down were not successful; hence, a cash reward is offered.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police are appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Donovan Williams to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant JJ Botha, on 060 629 7874, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 (anonymously), or alternatively use the MySAPS App or contact the nearest police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All information will be treated in strict confidence,” Janse Van Rensburg concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
