{"id":264721,"date":"2025-07-07T13:48:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T11:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/judge-president-mbenenge-denies-sending-explicit-images-to-secretary\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T15:02:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T13:02:33","slug":"judge-president-mbenenge-denies-sending-explicit-images-to-secretary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/udexpress\/judge-president-mbenenge-denies-sending-explicit-images-to-secretary\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge President Mbenenge denies sending explicit photos to secretary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Eastern Cape Judge President Selby Mbenenge denies that he sent sexually explicit pictures of himself to Andiswa Mengo, judges&#8217; secretary at the Eastern Cape High Court in November 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selby is giving his side of the story at a Judicial Conduct Tribunal Hearing in Sandton, Johannesburg, after Mengo accused him of sexual harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mengo testified that Mbenenge solicited oral sex from her and sent a picture of his private parts to her on WhatsApp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I look at it (this complaint) as a campaign to shame me. It is lies. It never happened. The complainant knows as much as me that it never took place,&#8221; Mbenenge said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Nothing of this sort happenend and yet this has brought (me) much pain. I do not mind being accused of things that I did, but not things that I did not do.
