Kraaifontein resident Rob Bisset was in for a huge shock on a short stop to the CapeGate Shopping Centre today, Friday 9 May. Just 15 minutes after his arrival he returned to his car in the underground parking lot, around 12:00, to discover two of its wheels had been stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I spotted suspicious-looking men in a vehicle parked in front of me, but shifted attention when I turned back to pay for my parking,” he related. On coming out again the vehicle was missing two of its wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Video footage made available to police by Cape Gate shows the suspects stop at Bisset’s Volkswagen Golf MK, jacking-up the car to take the wheels off and then casually driving off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chair of the Tygerberg Sub-cluster Community Policing Forum, he said the suspects\u2019 car, a blue Honda Ballade with a black bonnet, was believed to have been registered in Green Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bisset believes his Golf MK, considered a classic, was specifically targeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They could have been watching me for a while and followed me into the centre,” he told\u00a0TygerBurger<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Centre management apologised to me and assisted police; what else could they do?
