Cape Town witnessed a feat of extraordinary strength and symbolism last Wednesday as world-renowned strongman Franz “Austrian Rock” M\u00fcllner pulled a 14,5-ton double-decker bus across 20 metres in just 57 seconds. He smashed his 60th official world record in front of the iconic Long March to Freedom monument in what is now known as the world record bus pull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set against the powerful backdrop of Nelson Mandela’s image at Century City, the moment was more than a test of muscle. It was a message to the world, highlighting the significance of the world record bus pull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the themes of hope and freedom at its core, M\u00fcllner’s challenge marked the African leg of his epic “7 World Records on 7 Continents<\/a>” mission. This brought his global tally to six continents and counting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
