scouts of the northern suburbs on 23 May \u2013 shooting water balloons at targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was hosted by the Kanonkop District Rover crew as part of a task one of the recruits, Nicolene Hellstrom, had to carry out in order to become a rover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scouts had to construct catapults out of ropes and poles and then shoot water balloons at targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is one of the fun and exciting scouting events used to develop the scouts leadership skills, teamwork, pioneering abilities and hand-eye co-ordination,\u201d said Stephen Cloete, chairperson of the Kanonkop District Rover Crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cloete said Hellstrom, chief judge of the event, was ve\u00adry happy with the turnout of scouts despite the rainy weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe day was a great success as scouts and parents alike laughed and cheered as water balloons were fired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTeamwork, camaraderie and healthy competition were the main themes of the day, as the scouts competed for bragging rights and the floating trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe would like to thank all the parents for their support
