A 29-year-old Mitchell\u2019s Plain woman, whose Belhar boyfriend was arrested for an illegal licensing scam, has appeared in the Bellville Magistrate\u2019s Court on similar charges yesterday (9 February).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a report from the Hawks, the girlfriend of Elton Bernard Abrahams, who was arrested in Belhar in November, was arrested by the anti-corruption unit for her alleged part in an illegal vehicle licensing and police clearance scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Lloyd Ramovha, says cash worth millions was confiscated from Abrahams during his arrest. His arrest, was followed by that of an accomplice in De Aar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe matter has been adjourned until 16 February, where the trio are expected to appear alongside each other. They are facing charges relating to fraud, corruption, money laundering as well as racketeering.
