Theft at restaurants, especially of handbags, is still a concern in Durbanville, said Captain Marchell Rhode, spokesperson for the Durbanville police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the latest incident on Friday 23 June at about 19:00 a woman\u2019s handbag was stolen from right under her table at the Viva Mexico Restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman discovered that her handbag with valuables was taken from under her table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Video footage revealed how three women were walking away with a small girl with the handbag in her hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim reported a case of theft of her handbag and laptop to the value of R14\u2009500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rhode warned that people must not leave their handbags unattended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
