The donation process is quite similar to donating blood or platelets, the Sunflower Fund said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRegistering as a donor is a simple process and can be very rewarding in that you could give the hope of life to someone who needs it,\u201d says Alana James, CEO of The Sunflower Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou could be someone\u2019s perfect match.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fund will be accompanying the Western Province Blood Transfusion Services at the Tygervalley Centre conference room (close to the Nedbank entrance) to host a drive to recruit committed donors who will be willing, when matched with a patient, to donate blood stem cells to someone suffering from Leukaemia and other blood disorders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive will run from 10:00 until 15:00 on Friday 14 July where the Fund will be registering healthy individuals between the ages of 18 and 45 who will be prepared to stay on the registry until the age of 60 and are committed to helping anyone they match with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
