The province\u2019s roads remain full
\nof speedsters, frauds and drunken drivers, according to a statement released by
\nthe Western Cape provincial traffic services on Wednesday 3 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement details the number
\nof cases handled by Traffic Services over the past weekend, which includes a
\nmotorist who was arrested in Brackenfell for being in possession of false
\ndocumentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apart from this arrest,
\nprovincial police also managed to arrest a motorist in the same area for
\nspeeding. This motorist apparently recorded the highest speed in the province
\nfor the weekend, clocking 221 km\/h in a 120 km\/h zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provincial traffic spokesperson,
\nKenny Africa, says a total of 1149 motorists were arrested for speeding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the statement, a
\npreliminary report indicates that 12 people had died on the Western Cape\u2019s road
\nthis weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the incidents in which a
\ndriver and pedestrian lost their lives, occurred on the R300 highway near
\nHindle Road on Monday 1 January at 13:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A total of 33 motorists across The province\u2019s roads remain full of speedsters, frauds and drunken drivers, according to a statement released by the Western Cape provincial traffic
