The improvement of services to the community of Parow and surrounding areas is the first
\nmission that the newly-appointed station commander at Parow Police Station, Colonel Tebogo Jacobs, is prioritising. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacobs started on 1
\nJanuary in Parow and is originally from the Free State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI cannot improve the services if the community is not on
\nboard as well. This is not a one-man-show,
\nbut a collective of all involved. I am thus also appealing to the community to
\nwork closely with us, so that all of us can share in the successes of the
\npolice station,\u201d Jacobs said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was born and bred in Brandfort in the Free State and has
\n25 years\u2019 service in the police force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen I completed my training in 1994 I was stationed in
\nBrandfort as a constable. Through the years I\u2019ve moved through the ranks at
\npolice stations in Theunissen, Hoopstad, Kroonstad and Bloemfontein and applied
\nfor the vacancy here in October last year. I was promoted to Parow and started
\nmy journey in the Western Cape at the beginning of the year,\u201d Jacobs said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have much to offer in terms of service improvement.\u201d He said he also believes in teamwork. \u201cThrough service delivery and teamwork by the
\npolice and the community we can address crime in our area. I also want to be
\ntransparent if crime or crimes are committed so that the community at large
\nwill feel free to help us identify the criminals,
\nor help us bring them to book. If a murder is committed and the community knows
\nwho is or was involved, then I want to know about it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacobs is a widower and
\nlost his wife in 2013 due to cancer. He has two children and they will join him
\nat the end of the year, or early in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
