Two teenagers, both 19 years of age, appeared in the Cape
\nTown Magistrate\u2019s Court after they allegedly tried to rob a woman of her
\ncellphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident occurred in brought daylight on Wednesday 16
\nMay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman was on her way home when she was attacked on the
\ncorner of Parklands Main Road and Koeberg Road, the police say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA security guard noticed the commotion and ran to the
\nlady\u2019s aid. With the assistance of bystanders, the security guard managed to catch
\nboth suspects. The stolen phone was recovered. Table View police were called
\nand the suspects were handed over to them,\u201d says police spokesperson, Captain
\nAdriana Chandler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The courage portrayed by the security guard was commended by
\npolice management and a certificate will be awarded to the individual, Chandler
\nsays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two suspects appeared in court on Friday 18 May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
