The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of
\nheavy rainfall, strong winds, very cold conditions and possible snowfall over
\nhigh-lying areas in the Western Cape at the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This as an intense cold front is expected over the province
\non Sunday into Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City of Cape Town\u2019s Disaster Risk Management Centre has
\nbeen advised of the severe weather forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spokesperson, Charlotte Powell, says all city services and
\napplicable external agencies will be on standby to deal with any potential
\nconsequences of the severe weather episode which could include uprooted trees,
\npower interruptions and flooded roadways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe City will also activate emergency shelter in the event
\nthat persons are displaced as a result of flooding,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nfrom a cell phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
General service requests can be directed via the City\u2019s call
\ncentre on 0860 103 089.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
