Rapid response by police resulted in the arrest of three
\nsuspects and the recovery of stolen goods in Parow Valley on Tuesday 14 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Captain Kevin Williams, spokesperson of Parow police, says
\nat approximately 12:30, Parow sector 3 manager responded to a panic alarm in
\nHofmeester Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUpon approaching the premises, he noticed a white Kia Rio
\nin front of the house with a male person standing alongside it and two men each
\ncarrying a flat screen TV on the property,\u201d says Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Williams, the officer stopped his vehicle and
\napproached the men who were loading TVs into the Kia and sped off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the officer pursued the vehicle and called for
\nbackup to which the Parow and Bellville Crime Prevention Units responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe suspects abandoned the vehicle in Coronation Road,
\nRavensmead and fled on foot, but the police members gave chase and arrested
\nthem shortly thereafter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFour flat screen TV\u2019s and housebreaking implements, which
\nincluded two crowbars, a five pound hammer, two screwdrivers, a multi-tool,
\nknife and six gloves, were recovered from the vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three suspects, aged 20 to 22, respectively from Delft,
\nKewtown and Khayelitsha are to appear in Bellville Magistrate\u2019s Court on
\ncharges of housebreaking on Thursday 16 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police will investigate if the suspects were involved in
\nother housebreaking cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
