Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after
\ntwo people were wounded in a crossfire between two groups believed to be from
\nopposing taxi associations at the Bellville taxi rank this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andr\u00e9
\nTraut said at around 10:45 this morning two groups of people started exchanging
\nshots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn the process, two men (28 and 33) who were bystanders
\nwere shot and wounded,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolice members who were deployed to the area noticed a
\ngroup of five male persons standing on Voortrekker Road. Upon approaching them,
\none male produced a firearm. He was shot and wounded by police.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the men attempted to flee the scene, but four of
\nthem were apprehended and arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They will appear in the Bellville Magistrate\u2019s Court on
