Visitors to the Canal Walk Shopping Centre were met with more than just the friendly smiles of sales assistants on Wednesday, when they witnessed angry screams and disgruntled faces of a small group of protestors inside the building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protestors, according to comments on social media, are apparently employers of a pharmacy in the centre and are demanding better salary increases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A video that was posted on Facebook on Wednesday shows how members of the police\u2019s PublicOrder Police Unit try to disperse the crowd with batons and shields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Captain Frederick van Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson, told TygerBurger four men \u2013 aged 31, 34, 36 and 41 \u2013 were arrested at the mall at about 14:00 and will be charged for contravening the regulation of a court interdict, public violence, malicious damage to property and assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
