Durbanville police are investigating a case of carjacking after a taxi driver and the passengers he was transporting robbed workers of their trailer on the Vissershok Road outside Durbanville yesterday (Thursday 27 January).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Durbanville police spokesperson Capt Marchell Rhode, the complainant, who was on duty at the time, was guarding the trailer while other workers were busy cutting grass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA taxi stopped next to him (the complainant) and one of the passengers jumped out, approached him and demanded the trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe complainant refused, and the passenger took out a firearm and threatened him with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThree other men also climbed out of the taxi and hooked the trailer onto the taxi, whereafter they drove off. No suspects have been arrested at this stage,\u201d Rhode says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
