If you enjoyed Ratanga Junction Theme Park, there are many parts of the new development Ratanga Park that might spark memories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TygerBurger<\/em> was inundated with emails and calls regarding the new development and visited the new spot recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park is part of a mixed-use development called Bridgewater One in Century City, which offers a variety of land and water-based outdoor exercise options in beautiful landscapes, as well as the enhancement of rich birdlife and indigenous vegetation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earmarked for completion in April this year, the park is partially open, with some work still taking place on the southern section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Rabie Group\u2019s director, Colin Green, Ratanga Park is a public green open space like Green Point Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt offers a peaceful, green\/ eco-environment for people to walk, run or relax in. Situated on the banks of the Century City canals, you can look over the water body and as time goes on, the establishment of water birds on the small islands in the water body. We will be developing residential blocks around the perimeter of the park, the first of which was Bridgewater, which is completed. Our development plan has a phased approach with our first new apartment block, Nine Palms, launching in the next few months,\u201d Green says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area directly adjacent to the park, boasts no less than 10 restaurants and coffee shops, with Virgin Active within walking distance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe safety, convenience and walkability of living, working and visiting Cape Town\u2019s smart city is everything a modern urban lifestyle is made of. Ideally, you can walk from your apartment, grab a coffee, take a walk across the park and walk to your office,\u201d Green says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two bridges across the canal, some lawn and a big picture frame at the park. Green says they are finalising the design of a children\u2019s play area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are not adding any other entertainment to the park,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acces to the park is free to the public and visitors can enjoy walking and breathing in some fresh air. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn fact, the Park Run currently runs through Ratanga Park already,\u201d Green says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When TygerBurger<\/em> visited the park, construction was still underway at certain sections of the park. Asked what is still being planned, Green says they are currently completing the pathways and landscaping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
