{"id":55250,"date":"2022-04-20T09:19:16","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T07:19:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/tygerburger\/anti-bullying-plan-set-20220419-2\/"},"modified":"2025-03-19T19:55:46","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T17:55:46","slug":"anti-bullying-plan-set-20220419-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/tygerburger\/anti-bullying-plan-set-20220419-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-bullying plan set"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The junior station commander for the Belhar Police Station recently put together a prevention plan for bullying in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Miguel Beneke, a learner at Excelsior High says the plan, called Beneke\u2019s Prevention Plan of Efficiency, is a detailed guide for family, friends and teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis plan is all about explaining to the youth about bullying. Bullying is a serious thing which in some cases leads to youth committing suicide. This plan would be very effective at high schools or even primary schools as maybe the teachers can run a programme where they make the learners understand what bullying is all about,\u201d says Beneke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beneke says he created the plan based on the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do they know what bullying is?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do they understand what is bullying?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have they been bullied before?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who can they trust?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who can they go to in case of emergency?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do they know the emergency contact details?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is the school\u2019s duty to teach the children about bullying especially in the life orientation\/life skills subject at our schools. I am in contact with my school about endorsing the programme as it will help with bullying prevention for the school.
