At least one alleged rapist was arrested after a private armed response officer reacted to a horrible incident in School Street on Friday 8 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brackenfell-based security company Titanium Securitas posted on their Facebook page that one of their response officers\u2019 vehicle was flagged down at around 19:50 during a routine patrol in Kuils River. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officer was told that it appeared a girl was being sexually assaulted by four men under the bridge in School Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe response officer immediately made his way to the location while calling for backup from our additional armed response vehicles in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThanks to the quick response from our team, one suspect was caught and immediately detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe admitted to being involved and also identified the other suspects that were involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was handed over to Kuils River police after being positively identified by the victim,\u201d reads the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Titanium their response team continued to search for the other suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They soon found two of the remaining three suspects a few streets away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both were detained and handed over to the police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Titanium\u2019s information from the scene is that the victim and a friend were walking when the men attempted to rob them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe friend manage to escape after which the suspects proceeded to allegedly rape the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThree of the four suspects were caught and handed over to Kuils River police for further investigation into the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt Col Karen Vorsatz, acting station commander of Kuils River police, said in response to TygerBurger\u2019s<\/i> enquiry a rape case was registered at the local police. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe incident occurred around 19:30 on Friday evening.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vorsatz only acknowledged the arrest of one 29-year-old man who appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate\u2019s Court on Monday 11 April on a charge of rape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
