The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) recently visited Palm Park Primary School in Blue Downs to let the learners enjoy the joys of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Shirley de Kock Gueller, spokesperson for the CPO, they are fulfilling their mandate during May by visiting more than a dozen schools across the Peninsula to share the love of music with thousands of learners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s more, we have four different programmes geared towards three different age groups from Grade R to Grade 3, Grades 4 to 7 and then high school learners. Brandon Phillips will be on the podium to excite them with music that ranges from \u201cThe Typewriter\u201d by Leroy Anderson and Tchaikovsky to the \u201cLion King\u201d. The younger ones will also be introduced to the families of instruments,\u201d says De Kock Gueller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She says the month of May has been dedicated to presenting concerts to learners at schools across the Peninsula. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe enthusiasm of the 1 200 learners at Palm Park was infectious and they couldn\u2019t keep their hands still. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI want to thank the school for the warm welcome and the spontaneous energy,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
