The Bellevue wine estate was a hive of activity last weekend when mountain bike enthusiasts, young on old, took to the scenic Bottelary Hills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Launched this year the Cycle2Ride (C2R) Mountain Bike Festival was hosted by Curro Brackenfell and promises to become a highlight on the school calender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
C2R is an initiative supported by Curro that aims to promote cycling as a medium for family cohesion, relaxation and fun with the possibility of cycling as a career choice for those who are truly interested in becoming professional athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe day was filled with fun, laughter and of course racing and cycling. It has been nothing short of exhilarating for the whole family,\u201d says school spokesperson Cherize Ebersohn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative introduces young learners and their parents to their first cycling classes and offers them the opportunity to spend time together, to connect with each other and with nature. It also provides opportunities for families and individuals to participate in cycling events.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, C2R last year got involved with Bottelary Primary at their first Curro Brackenfell\/ Bottelary Hills Conservancy MyRyde Event in 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey provided a platform for these young riders to participate in the event by sponsoring their entries, fixing their bicycles, and sponsoring 14 students with brand new helmets.
