Devi Pillay from Goodwood has been designing and making Wonderbags for the past 20 years, selling bags all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pillay says she cannot remember why exactly she started but recalls seeing people experimenting with this idea in a box and giving it a go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To complete any cooking in the Wonderbag, first bring your food to boil rapidly for five minutes on the stove, thereafter put the pot into the Wonderbag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your food will be ready in about the normal time it would take to cook on the stove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Pillay, it takes up to one and a half days to make and complete a Wonderbag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She previously sent Wonderbags to the Eastern Cape to help people without electricity as this bag saves you time and electricity, making it a money-saving tool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pillay says her secret is insulation, her unique trimming and shweshwe fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is excellent for working mothers, picnics, saving electricity and a massive help in time of load-shedding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pillay chuckles as she continues \u201cyou cook your food in the morning, place it into the Wonderbag, go galavanting, come back and enjoy your food \u2013 like my neighbour does\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These wonder bags are available in different sizes and vary from R200 to R350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
