The Mfuleni police in partnership with other law enforcement authorities, the Mfuleni Community Policing Forum (CPF) and a number of neighbourhood watch structures in the Mfuleni policing area will conduct a 16 Days of Activism and Sports Against Crime event at the Happy Valley Primary School grounds on Saturday 10 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police spokesperson WO November Filander, the event will start with an official 16 Days of Activism programme with various motivational speakers, singers and a dance group, followed by a cadette drill demonstration from Wesbank youth, and an interactive fitness-teambuilding session, led by the legendary fitness guru of Cape Town, Remay Damons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen it\u2019s the start of the fun competitive Indigenous\/ Boeresport games between a number of local neighbourhood watch groups, mixed with the police and other law enforcement officers. These traditional games include sack races, three-legged races, egg-and-spoon races, candy treasure hunts, pendulum walks, dominoes, six-aside touch rugby, netball, soccer, and other similar sports. A variety of food stalls and ornaments will also be set up. There will also be a water slide, face painting, a jumping castle for young and old to enjoy. The fire brigade, metro police K9 unit, the mounted unit and other law enforcement agencies will all be on display. Tight access and safety rules will be applied,\u201d says Filander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
