A ditch in the road in De Tijger, Parow North, is a concern for one resident of the area who fears that the vehicles making use of the road may be damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resident who wishes to remain anonymous sent TygerBurger<\/em> a few photos of the ditch on the corners of Hannes Louw Drive and Antoinette Street last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He claims that the repair of the ditch is being ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTwo weeks after an underground pipe burst had been repaired the open space had not yet been repaired. They could have compacted it with machines they have. They did it hastily and did not follow up after complaints from the public,\u201d the resident wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The resident feels that if the work had been carried out on a highway, the repairs would have been done immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roger Cannon, ward councillor, visited the site in Hannes Louw Drive on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cA major pipe had burst in the road and it was repaired. The process is such that the tarring does not get done immediately, as the dug up ground now has to settle. It takes up to a month for the entire area to settle down before tarring can take place. Some people are just impatient and cannot wait for the process to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI met one of the water officials at the site and I think they will just have to compact it again,\u201d
