The Goodwood Rotary Club\u2019s donations are appropriate for winter months ahead, said Samantha Muller, a social worker at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes after the club\u2019s generous donation to the foundation through its beneficiary the Knitters For Charity group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Goodwood Rotary Club is described as a passionate group of motivated business and retired men and women, who decided to give back to the community they live in. One that strives to make a difference. Anyone who shares that passion is welcome to join in and become part of a great team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colin Jacobs, who is part of the corporate clothing of the club, said it is a service organisation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club donated to the Knitters for Charity (KFC) group as per their outreach project who in turn donated their knit work to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation in Goodwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rotary Club usually has an annual golf day and the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa is a beneficiary of that golf day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa\u2019s mission is to support people affected by muscular dystrophy and neuromuscular disorders and endeavour to improve the quality of life of its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna-Marie Stoman, co-chair of the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa, said they feel very pleased that the Knitting for Charity ladies chose them to give blankets to in the cold, wet, Cape winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is always a great need for blankets. We are deeply grateful for that. I think everyone who received something was very blessed by the Rotary Club in Goodwood,\u201d Stoman said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samantha Muller, a social worker at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa, thinks the blankets are very appropriate now, with the cold weather. Especially for people who are in wheelchairs, because their bodies cannot physically move around often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gloria van Eeden, chair of The Knitters for Charity, said they also knitted some clothing to give to HappyBabies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was all organised by the Goodwood Rotary Club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
