A local restaurant in Goodwood that was previously voted the favourite family restaurant in Cape Town, has a chance to grab the prize once again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashley\u2019s Family Restaurant is nominated for best family restaurant in the Kfm Best of Cape Town awards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ashley Witten, owner of the restaurant, says the nomination came both as a surprise \u201cand also not as one\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This because they have a dedicated support customer base that rates them high, the restaurant boasts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witten says the competition got bigger, \u201cso there are more people aware of it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Restaurants also nominated in the category of best family restaurant are in Mossel Bay, Piketberg, Hermanus and Paarl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Witten the growth of fans in the running time of the competition led them to the most followed restaurant in Cape Town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alice Menigo, HR at the restaurant says: \u201cYou can\u2019t see all the likes on the pages, but you can see all the views.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interaction from people in the last competition grew its fan base by 20 000 people and 1,3 million people interacted on their platform to give them the number one spot as Cape Town\u2019s favourite family restaurant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witten explains he had been in the Goodwood area for more than 30 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have seen all the changes, not all bad, a lot of good, because it is the perfect area where people uplifted themselves,\u201d he says. \u201cThis is where they ended up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat we try and achieve here is to give each staff member who works at Ashley\u2019s an opportunity to practise their flair, the \u2018you\u2019 to come out,\u201d Witten says. \u201cYou are there to serve the customer, but more importantly, entertain them. It is one of the things that makes a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople are not only coming for supper. They are coming for an entertaining evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople choose where they go nowadays. Any establishment with a customer must know from the time they enter that they chose this establishment. So one\u2019s all must be given so next time they eat out they will come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery visit must be a special one, a memory made. Even just making eye contact is important.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
