Kuils River police arrested a 22-year-old man linked to fraudulent activities conducted via the Checkers Sixty60 app on Wednesday 29 November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local police spokesperson, WO Liesel Beukes, said the complainant reported that multiple liquor orders were placed on the app over the previous week as monitored by Checkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police followed up on the information and arrested the suspect for fraud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Liquor to the value of R5 000 was confiscated from the man. He appeared in court on Friday 1 December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe case is still being investigated,\u201d Beukes said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In another incident on Wednesday afternoon (29 November) WO Andries Binedell of Kuils River police followed-up on information received of a Silver Toyota Corolla possibly linked to shoplifting at Zevenwacht Mall earlier that day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Binedell then went on to track the vehicle down and stopped it on the R300 off-ramp onto the N2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe searched the vehicle and found underwear from Mr Price as well as skin-care products with an estimated value of R3 800 in the vehicle,\u201d Beukes said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The occupants of the vehicle, a man (37) and a woman (38), were arrested for possession of property that was presumed stolen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beukes said the items found were later linked to Zevenwacht Mall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both suspects appeared in Kuils River Magistrates\u2019 Court on Friday 1 December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
