The City of Cape Town is in the process of erecting a new solid concrete wall at the Salberau sports field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis process started last week Wednesday 6 March and must be finished by the end of June,\u201d says Chris Jordaan, councillor for Ward 28 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said this comes in the wake of everyday vandalism and slabs being stolen. In addition, floodlights are also being stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Break-ins at the clubhouse are a concern, said Jordaan. \u201cAt one stage the security were threatened with knives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He felt the wall will keep the thugs out and will also ensure the sports codes can enjoy a safe and secure environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI sincerely hope the community will look after this well-deserved facility,\u201d Jordaan said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
