Knife enthusiasts are in for a treat at the Cape Knife Club\u2019s next show, held at the end of this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe knife show is growing every year and what is more pleasing is to see the number of upcountry makers that are coming to the shows and we are the only knife club in SA to host two shows a year. You must make an effort to visit Des Horn\u2019s stand and see his works of art,\u201d Cape Knife Club (CKC) chair, Michael de Kock, says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The show, which has been held around the metropole for 18 years, will take place on 20 and 21 April at the arena in Tyger Valley Shopping Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stan Hohowsky, the event organiser, says the new venue is the ultimate venue for knife-makers to exhibit their wares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The public will see more than 30 exhibitors. \u201cEverything from hunting knives to swords, axes, pocket knives (will be on sale),\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor those who want to start the hobby, there will be knife making machines, accessories and more.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exhibitors Danie Gouws & JRK will be selling knife kits which is an ideal way to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hohowsky and De Kock urge visitors to ask the makers on how they create knives as most of them are more than willing to share manufacturing methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The show will take place on Saturday, 20 April, from 09:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 21 April from 09:00 to 15:00 at the Arena in Tyger Valley Shopping Centre. Entrance is R50 per person, R70 per couple and R100 for a family. Included in the entry fee is an automatic entrance into a lucky draw to win an MdK Customs Baby Cleaver worth R950. There will also be another R50 lucky draw to win a Dunn Blades Hunter worth R2 500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
