\u201cThis fundraising effort falls under the category of \u2018sadaqah jariyah\u2019, or continuous charity, which contributes to long-term benefits for the community,\u201d says Nabeel Jackson Rhoda, a dedicated congregation member. He states that as highlighted by a prophetic statement from the authentic collection of Imam Tirmidhi: \u201cWhen a person dies, all their good deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and righteous offspring who will pray for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMasjidul Ameer has been a cornerstone of the Ruyterwacht community for three decades, originally starting from a doctor\u2019s surgery before evolving into its current form. As the local Muslim population grows, there is a pressing need to expand the mosque\u2019s facilities to better serve the community\u2019s spiritual, educational, and social needs,\u201d says Rhoda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To support this initiative, the community has been actively involved in various fundraising activities. These include food sales, private donations, and envelope drives, where families contribute on behalf of their loved ones, both living and departed. Rhoda emphasised the importance of this expansion: \u201cOur mosque has been the heart of our community for many years.
