On Monday 5 August the City of Cape Town\u2019s law enforcement metals theft unit officers responded to a complaint of electrical cables being stripped at a residence in Lentegeur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On arrival at the property they observed a heap of cable insulation outside the back door of the property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officers also noticed a Wendy house on the property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After being given permission to enter, they found the outer covers of a 132000V 3 core copper cable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On further inspection a complete 3m piece of 132000V x 3 core copper cable was found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 50-year-old suspect was arrested in terms of the Criminal Matters Amendments Act and for being in possession of stolen property that belongs to the City of Cape Town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the remains of the cable insulation it is evident that the value of the cable amounts to thousands of rands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
