The dedicated Glenwood Neighbourhood Watch joined forces with Goodwood police at the notorious Voortrekker and Halt Road intersection<\/a> on Saturday 14 September, a known hotspot for smash-and-grab incidents and robberies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis hotspot requires extra caution, so stay alert,\u201d says Tracy Alberts, deputy chair of the Glenwood Neighbourhood Watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Alberts, as the group showed their visible presence, motorists expressed their appreciation with friendly toots and shout-outs, acknowledging the groups efforts to keep the community safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deputy chair states that the intersection in question is a high-traffic area, characterised by a significant volume of taxis and pedestrian activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe location offers numerous escape routes, including access to train lines and readily available taxi services, making it an attractive spot for criminal activity due to the ease of escape and anonymity\u201d, says Alberts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
